- Growth measurements for £20
15 weeks is the earliest that the gender can reliably be seen on a gender ultrasound scan and gives expectant parents the opportunity to find out the gender 4 weeks earlier than they normally would at the 20 week NHS scan.
We know how exciting finding out the gender of your baby is and we understand that you would want to share that experience with family and friends so we have a large scan room with plenty of seating and multiple large screens as well as a projector so everyone including the mum to be has a great view of the scan.
It’s no problem if you want to keep the gender a secret, we will print a picture of the boy or girl parts, write on the picture whether it’s a girl or boy, and we will put that in an envelope for you to take home.
If you are interested in knowing the gender earlier than 15 weeks we do offer the SneakPeek Gender Blood Test which can identify the gender of your baby as early as 7 weeks. The SneakPeek Test is a pregnancy blood test and not a pregnancy ultrasound scan. You can find out more at SneakPeek Gender Blood Test.
We also have a range of gender reveal accessories to choose from balloons, cannons, footballs, scratch cards and gender reveal party decorations.
Gender Scan
During your gender scan, also known as a sexing scan, the sonographer will show you your baby, pointing out the heart, head, legs and arms. You will be able to listen to your baby’s heartbeat and for an extra fee you can choose to have the the heartbeat recorded and put into a heartbeat bear for you take home. The sonographer will check the well being of your baby and point out the vital organs and show you where your baby is lying within the womb. The sonographer will show you your baby’s gender, they will point out the boy or girl bits. We will also have a quick look at what you baby looks like in 4D at this stage.
After your gender scan the sonographer will choose the two best pictures and print them on black and white thermal paper for you to take home.
If you want extra pictures we can print colour photo prints for an extra fee, you can look through your gender scan images and choose extra pictures you would like us to print. Later that same day we will email to you all your scan pictures, video clips and report.
At Babyvue we perform gender scans any time from 15 weeks to 22 weeks. 15 weeks is the earliest that the gender can reliably be seen on ultrasound scans. 15 weeks is also a good time to have a scan as it falls right in between the 12 week and 20 week NHS scans. It is nice to have a scan to have a bit of reassurance that all is going well while you are in between NHS scans and before you can feel the baby moving.

What happens if you can’t see my baby’s gender?

Usually these techniques work but on the very rare occasion that we still can not see a gender we would book you in to come back another day for a free rescan. It is very rare that we have to book someone for a rescan for the gender it would only happen about twice in an entire year.
